OVERVIEW OF THE FYB - YTT PROGRAMS

FYB's course curriculum is evolutionary, in that we strive to offer the most current, complete and comprehensive information. Our curriculum is based on continual and ongoing research and revision, as well as feedback from FYB students, FYB graduates and employers in the Yoga industry.

FYB YTT Programs are offered throughout the year, as Multi-Level (1-6) Certification Programs, as well as Comprehensive Certification Programs.  The FYB YTT Program involves classroom time (contact hours) and home study (non-contact hours).

"The hands-on knowledge that I received, to make yoga safe and accessible to everyone, is amazing.  The teaching methodology taught here really makes sense and takes much of the fear of the unknown out of teaching." - T.M.

Comprehensive Program: Classes are held one weekend per month, over an eight-month time frame.

Home study is completed in between class weekends.  Upon successful completion of the Comprehensive Program, full FYB Yoga Teacher Certification is awarded and you are automatically eligible for the Yoga Alliance RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) designation.

  •   Approximate Hours:
                                              Saturday, 8:00am-9:00pm (includes two breaks)
                                              Sunday, 8:00am-8:00pm (includes two breaks)

"The FYB Teacher Training is extensive compared to others!" - S.M.

Intensive Program:  Classes are held over a 21-day period, with 3 days off (for a total of 18 training days).

Home study is completed during, at upon completion of, the 21 days.  Upon successful completion of the Intensive Program, full FYB Yoga Teacher Certification is awarded and you are automatically eligible for the Yoga Alliance RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) designation.

  • Approximate Hours:    8:00am-9:00pm (includes two breaks).  Some days are either off or begin at 8:00am with early dismissal of approximately 6:30pm (includes lunch break)

Multi-Level Program: Classes are held at various certification levels.  The levels must be completed in sequential order (e.g. Level 3 after Level 2).  The various certification levels are offered periodically throughout the year.

FYB Yoga Teacher Certifications by Level are available to graduates of each level.  For example, FYB Certified Yoga Teacher - Level 1.

Home study is completed following Levels 4, 5 and 6.  Upon successful completion of all 6 levels of the Multi-Level Program, full FYB Yoga Teacher Certification is awarded and you are automatically eligible for the Yoga Alliance RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) designation.

"I've been studying yoga for many years and am now taking a class with an FYB Instructor at one of your Outreach Teacher-Staffing locations.  I really like the way she teaches, and can tell by her attitude and skill in the practice of yoga that you do a great job of training teachers.  Please send me an application for your teacher training." - S.H.
